| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The unique blend of curry and coriander add spice to this otherwise sweet and creamy soup. Rich in fiber, iron and protein, as well as low in fat, the humble pea never fails to please the palate.
About the Women's Bean Project
This product is made by the women at the Women's Bean Project, a social enterprise that offers a transitional job in gourmet food manufacturing designed to provide immediate income, arrange support services to overcome barriers to employment, and teach the job readiness skills needed to get and keep a job. The Womens Bean Project employs women who come from backgrounds of chronic unemployment and poverty, and helps them develop the work and interpersonal skills needed to function independently in the workplace and community. These tools empower women to create better lives for themselves, provide their families with hope, and contribute to a stronger community.

| Customer Reviews: Outstanding soup, outstanding group! February 11, 2009 Marsha Ann Springer (Chesterfield, MO) This is a very tasty soup mix and helped me create a soup that my family loved! The spices add an interesting and flavorful mix to this soup, and do not overpower the finished product. I highly recommend this mix to anyone who loves pea soup and likes the flavor of a homemade soup. Plus, the purchase of this product supports the work of the Women's Bean Project, which helps women break the cycle of unemployment and poverty, and you can't beat that! Give this tasty soup a try, you will like it!
Easiest, Best Tasting Split Pea Soup November 26, 2007 Alice Bell The Women's Bean Project Spicy Split Pea Soup is one of those comfort foods that you hated and turned your nose up as a child; then one day you decided to taste it again --and WOW - you wonder what made you dislike it as a child. Although it is not the most attractive looking soup, it is certainly one of the tastiest! All of the bean project soups are easy to prepare and the best part is that they come with the most perfect seasonings! This soup just makes you feel cozy and satisfied - it is spicy but not so much that you have to chase it with water - just enough to override the blandness of the pea.
great soup March 28, 2007 Jennifer Snide (United States) This is the best pea soup mix. The spice balance is just right.
MaryinMinnesota January 12, 2007 Mary Tate Staples (Minnesota) I love the soups from the Women's Bean Project. They are actually priced better on Amazon.com then on their own web page, so it is easier to order here. Also, the money goes to a worthy cause: Teaching women skills (e.g. computer, office) so that they can support themselves and their families. The soups come fairly complete with a spice package. Usually you will only require a can of tomatoes, but I like to add celery, carrots, cubed ham, hot sauce, whatever! The cornbread they sell is also delicious, very moist and sweet.
